Sabudana and Sweet Potato Tikkis

Servings 6 medium tikkis
Sabudana and Sweet Potato Tikkis. Pan-fried tikkis/ patties made using the very healthy sweet potatoes and sago. Perfect for fasting days and a very healthy breakfast option.

Ingredients

  • 2 boiled and mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 small boiled and mashed potato
  • 1 cup soaked sago/ sabudana
  • 1/4 cup coarse ground roasted peanuts
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2-3 chopped green chillies
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 coarse ground black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • Oil for pan-frying

Instructions 

  • Mix all of the above with gentle hands.
  • Shape into patties/ tikkis applying some oil on the palms of your hands.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet/pan, add 2 tbsp oil and spread well.
  • Shallow/ pan fry the tikkis until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot with a cilantro/ mint chutney. Some buttermilk on the side is very good too.
